D-r Andrej Petrov was born in 1971 in Skopje, where he finished primary and secondary school. He graduated from the Medical Faculty in Skopje at University “Ss Cyril and Methodius”, with an average grade of 9.52. He completed a specialization in dermatovenereology at the Medical Faculty in Skopje.

He holds a Master's degree from the University of Belgrade, MMA, Serbia. He received his PhD from the Medical Faculty of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje and obtained the title of Doctor of Medical Sciences in the field of clinical medicine.

He is fluent in English and speaks French and Italian.

From 1996 to 2008 he worked at the Clinical Center in Skopje.
He was a specialist consultant at the Remedika General Hospital (2008-2010) and the Sistina Clinical Hospital (2010-2013).  Since 2013 he has been the head of the dermatovenereology and aesthetic dermatology department at the Acibademcystina Clinical Hospital. Since 2019, he has been the Deputy Chief of the Internal Medicine Department at the Acibademcistina Clinical Hospital.

Additionally, he is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences- UGD in Stip, where he teaches the following subjects: Dermatovenereology, Medical Ethics and Health Management. Since 2019 he is the Head of the study program in general medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences- UGD in Stip. He is actively involved in organizing and participating at international conferences and symposiums. He is author of numerous scientific and professional papers.

Dr. Petrov is member of several professional associations: The Doctor’s Chamber Republic of North Macedonia; Association of Dermatovenereologists of Macedonia; American Academy of Dermatology; European Academy of Dermatovenereology; World Dermoscopic Association; European Association for Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dermatology.

From 2000 to 2003 he was a member of the Council of the Municipality of Karpos- Skopje.  From 2003 to 2008 he was the Mayor of the Municipality of Karpos -Skopje. From 2008 to 2014 he was a Member of the Macedonian Parliament. . From 2005 to 2009 he was President of ZELS / Association of Local Self-Government Units.
